The reduction in height and/or spread of a tree’s crown while retaining its natural shape. Tree reduction is done to reduce the size of a tree, often to provide more light to gardens and houses, or to reduce the amount of weight in the tree, decreasing the chance of the hazardous failure of a limb.
The ends of each branch are cut back to appropriate ‘growth points’ depending on how much the tree is to be reduced. Usually no more than 30% is removed in a crown reduction. This process will retain the tree’s shape and appearance but reduce the size and density.
Crown Reshaping -
Part of the crown may be out of shape from the rest of the tree and you may wish to even it up to create a more symmetrical shape.
